Blueprint Gaming is the supplier behind some of the most popular branded games on the market today. The Goonies, Rick and Morty and ted, are just some characters that have featured in Blueprint's slots. The supplier's latest Deal or No Deal branded title was recently launched featuring a new mechanic. BonusFinder sat down with Blueprint's Jo Purvis to talk about the benefits of branded slots as well as its portfolio of reimagined popular land-based titles to attract a new audience online.

You recently launched your latest Deal or No Deal branded game featuring the Lightning Spins mechanic. Could you tell us a bit about that?

Deal or No Deal is an iconic slot gaming brand which has been hugely successful across both retail and online for over a decade. At Blueprint Gaming we aim to innovate and by incorporating our new bonus concept Lightning Spins™, we have reinvigorated a beloved classic with an exciting new gaming experience.

Lightning Spins™ has proven to be a popular mechanic since it first launched earlier this year with Rhino Rampage. Striking six Lightning Spins scatter symbols will trigger the feature, where players are given a minimum of three free spins to win cash prizes, as well claim one of the four in-game progressive jackpots.

Anticipation rises as each time a scatter symbol appear on the reels, a cash value is rewarded and will reset the remaining free spins to three. The game was also the first to feature the Lightning Gold Spins symbols, which are fixed in position during the bonus and pay after every lightning spin, resulting in smaller wins building into significant prizes over the course of multiple free spins.

Where does the inspiration for your slots come from?

Our inspiration stems from the fact the Blueprint team are huge slots fans and regularly play a variety of games. We're constantly aware of the latest market trends and are consistent with knowing which features will resonate with players. Our team consists of experienced individuals from both the online and retail sector, which is highly beneficial in allowing us to deliver a variety of high-quality games that feature different themes and mechanics.

Our design and development team is stronger than ever. The recent acquisitions of Games Warehouse and Project have boosted our creative thinking and we're in a solid position to bring even more innovative games to the marketplace.

What's your main focus when developing a new game?

Our love for slots means we're always determined to think outside of the box and create unmissable gaming experiences. We're never afraid to try something new and always adhere to high standards to ensure that the final product is as good as possible. As long as we stay ahead of the curve, we're well placed to develop games and features that players want and enjoy.

There are so many games within our portfolio that remain popular with players well beyond its first release, demonstrating the longevity of our content.

How do you best ensure that your slots appeal to beginners, intermediate, and more experienced players?

The key for us is diversity. Producing a mix of games that feature different styles and game mechanics will allow the games to reach a wide audience. When you take a look at our games library, there's something for everyone. Branded games that utilise assets from popular films and TV shows are a fantastic way of introducing new players to the slots environment.

The iconic characters are instantly recognisable and attracts fans to experience the gameplay. Blueprint branded slots such as The Goonies™, Rick and Morty™ Megaways™ and our series of games featuring ted™ have proven to engage all kinds of players, including newcomers.

We then have our range of converted Reel Time Gaming (RTG) titles, which are appealing to retail players and those familiar with traditional slot games. Reimagining hugely-popular slots such as Eye of Horus and Fishin' Frenzy for the online market has been a masterclass, extending the reach of these iconic titles into a new audience.

Our Jackpot King progressive system is loved by a variety of players. Players can become millionaires off any spin and stake. Jackpot King remains very popular and we will continue to evolve the system.

What do you think are the key factors that make your games appreciated by players?

There's a distinctive style of our games that players instantly recognise and appreciate. As well as providing an immersive gameplay with quality graphics and sounds, we aim to provide lots of laughs along the way as our game themes aren't too serious. Players will always come back if they resonate with the theme, graphics, animation and sound as much as the game structure.

What is your own personal favourite title in your portfolio?

There are so many to choose from, but I'd have to opt for The Goonies™. It's the perfect example of how Blueprint creates great moments in gaming, as players hunt for the illusive treasure of One-Eyed Willy.

It's a very interactive slot with multiple reel modifiers and bonus rounds inspired by the 1980's cult classic film. The game continues to be one of our top-performers with online casinos all over the world.

What can we expect from Blueprint Gaming the coming months? Any exciting upcoming titles?

2020 has remained a busy year of developing new games and features for the market. As we head into the final quarter of the year, there are plenty of new additions in the pipeline which are sure to whet the appetite.

Following the release of Fishin' Frenzy Power 4 Slots, which allows players to experience the classic RTG converted title across four sets of reels at the same time, we'll soon be including the mode within another popular RTG game, Eye of Horus.

While we're always looking to add more content to our Jackpot King series, we have more Megaways™ releases and RTG titles in the pipeline too. Development at Blueprint never stops as we aim to bring the next best game to market!
