PartyPoker August 2018 Review
Owned by the world’s largest gambling operator, GVC Holdings, Party Poker has dealt billions of hands since 2001. They continue to be the best poker provider online, who offer a strong bonus and a generous rakeback.
In the decade and a half since its beginning, the pioneer of online poker has become the top poker site in the industry. Now offering a complete suite of online gambling options together with its sister site Party Casino, Party Poker regularly ranks among the busiest poker sites both in Canada and Europe.
Party Poker has a global reputation and an international fan base, so the site’s developers have ensured that every real money player has a wealth of banking options. For us Canadian players specifically wanting to move CAD in and out of the site, the following payment methods are available:
- Instant Banking
- eCheck, cheque
- Visa Electron, Visa, Mastercard
The beauty of using the above banking options is that you can also use them to withdraw your funds. Although there are more deposit methods available, they don’t allow you to withdraw back to them; if you’re looking for the most efficient banking strategy possible then it’s best to use one of the above options.
Most of the deposit methods are instant. Only cheques and eChecks take time to clear.
After making an initial deposit using one of the above methods, you are eligible for a series of bonuses and VIP rewards worth thousands of dollars every month.
Party Poker Bonus Breakdown August 2018
|PartyPoker Welcome Bonus||$500|
|Deposit Match Percentage||100%|
|Rakeback||Up to 40%|
|Guaranteed Tournaments||$2.5M+ every week|
Since simplifying its welcome bonus back in 2013, Party Poker has leveled out its offer to an even $500.
Based on a 100% match policy and available on all initial deposits of $25 of more, this free cash offer is released in $1 increments each time you collect 8 player points.
Follow these simple steps to receive your bonus:
- Download the Party Poker software and register your details
- Make an initial deposit of $25 using one of the listed methods
- Play any real money cash game, tournament or sit & go to accrue points
- Make sure you earn enough points before the 120-day expiry date to release your full bonus
Breaking this bonus down further and putting its terms and conditions in context, you would need to complete the following conditions if you deposited $100.
- After placing a deposit of $100 you would be entitled to a free cash bonus worth $100 (taking your overall bankroll to $200)
- To release the full $100 bonus you will need to collect 800 points
- Each dollar raked in a cash game, tournament or sit & go is worth two points. You’d need to risk $200 in order to release the full bonus.
For tournament players this bonus returns 25% of the tournament fees: 2 points per fee dollar, 4 dollars for 8 points which return one dollar = you get 25% back.
One point to note is that the Party Poker’s deposit bonus is broken into 10 increments. For every eight points you earn you’ll unlock $1 of your bonus. Once you’ve released enough $1 increments to match 10% of your bonus, the cash is injected into your account.
Therefore, in the above example where you deposit $100, your money would be released in $10 bonus increments. For each increment, you’d need to get 80 points.
Gamewise it doesn’t make a difference what you do to clear your bonus money. You can play cash games or tournaments, Texas Hold’em or Omaha, fixed limit or no limit, etc. All that matters is how much you rake.
Alternative Beginner Bonus
If you are a newbie to the world of online poker, you can choose a “deposit $10 to play $30” beginner bonus instead of the normal welcome promotion.
This smaller bonus is perfect if you are playing real money poker for the first time. It’s limited to Party Poker’s casual cash game tables (stakes up to $0.10 / $0.25), which are only open to players who play one table at a time. This makes certain you won’t run into pro and semi-pro players, as they need to play a half a dozen or more tables at any one time.
To be able to withdraw your bonus money, you need to earn 40 poker points. There’s no need to worry about that though, as the limit is so low you’ll rack up the points in an hour or two.
To get your free $20, simply register at Party Poker and deposit $10.
To supplement its deposit bonus, Party Poker regularly offers monthly bonuses to existing players through its “Missions” program.
Changing on a monthly basis, this system sets out various tasks which you must complete in a certain period of time. If you manage to do this, a cash bonus will be credited to your account.
Party Poker’s VIP system is simple:
Every dollar you rake earns you a point. The more points you earn each month, the better your status becomes.
In total this system has four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Palladium. The further you climb, the more bonuses, tournament tickets, and exclusive cash rewards you’ll receive:
- Silver: 50 points per month = $5 casino bonuses, $2 tournament tickets and $50 in bonus cash
- Gold: 750 points per month = $50 casino bonuses, $50 tournament tickets and $250 in bonus cash
- Palladium: 2,000 points per month = $1,000 casino bonuses, $200 tournament tickets and $1,000 in bonus cash
Get Up to 40% Rakeback
In the current climate of declining rakeback options for poker players, PartyPoker has decided to stand out from the pack by bringing back its generous rakeback program. You can earn up to 40% in rakeback by active playing.
The cashback ladder starts from 20% and goes up to 40%. Earning loyalty points each month will bring you up the ladder, and the ladder in itself isn’t all that hard to climb.
- 20% rakeback: 25-149 loyalty points:
- 25%: 150-549 loyalty points
- 30%: 550-1199 loyalty points
- 40%: 1200-2000 loyalty points
It’s a major upgrade to their previous cashback, which only gave a bit over 20% of the rakeback to the players.
Even the 40% could get better, as Party’s Elite VIP’s get invited to a proper VIP club. The Elite VIP club is meant for high volume players who are avid grinders. They play multiple tables for several hours on a daily basis.
You get credited each Monday with the rakeback you’ve earned.
Their promotions mostly consist of guaranteed tournaments. The tournaments are reeeeeee-aaaaaally big, and if you aren't loaded, can earn your way through satellite tournaments. Their biggest tournaments hover in eight-figures.
