BonusFinder has analysed over 25 high-intent casino-related search terms across each province and state, including terms such as ‘best online casino‘, ‘casino welcome bonus’, ‘real money casino’ and more. Each area received a total interest score based on its relative popularity across all of the terms.

According to the new analysis, Oklahoma is the latest unofficial ‘casino capital of North America’, leading the pack in search interest for casino-related search terms.

North America's casino capitals

1. Oklahoma

Oklahoma topped the ranking across North America, with a total score of 64.9. The Southern state had high search interest for more ‘generic’ casino and gambling terms such as ‘real money casino’, ‘online real money casino’, and ‘online casino real money no deposit’ alongside promotional terms such as ‘no deposit bonus’.

Regarding specific games, search interest for these were low, compared to other search terms, however, blackjack, Slingo and craps were among the most popular in the state.

2. West Virginia

West Virginia placed second in the rankings. Like Oklahoma, the state had a high search interest for generic gambling terms such as ‘best online casinos’ and ‘online gambling’, alongside promotional terms such as ‘100 free spins’ and ‘no deposit bonus’.

Transactional terms, such as ‘no deposit casino’ and ‘play casino online real money’, also ranked highly across the state. According to the research, ‘Slingo,’ a relatively new casino game combining slots and bingo, was the most popular game in West Virginia.

3. Arkansas

Placing third, Arkansas showed high search interest for both generic gambling terms and transactional terms such as ‘play casino online real money’, ‘real money casino’, ‘casino games’ and ‘best online casino’.

Like Oklahoma, search interest for specific games was low compared to other terms. However, blackjack, Slingo and roulette were among Arkansas’ most popular games.

4. Oregon

Oregon placed fourth, with the Northwest state being the first in the ranking where game-specific terms were the most popular among residents. The most popular games included roulette, slots, blackjack and craps.

Generic gambling terms also had high search interest across the state, such as ‘online casino’, ‘best online casinos’ and ‘online gambling’.

5. Mississippi

Placing fifth, Mississippi had high search interest for promotional and bonus terms such as ‘casino welcome bonus’, ‘real money casino’ and ‘real money online casino’ alongside more generic casino terms such as ‘casino games’, ‘online casino’ and ‘best online casinos’.

Blackjack, roulette and Slingo were among the most popular games in Southern states.

6. Saskatchewan

Placing sixth overall, Saskatchewan topped the Canadian ranking with a total score of 51.9; the Western province had high search interest for the more generic casino and gambling search terms alongside bonus and promotion-focused terms, such as ‘best online casinos’, ‘real money casinos’, ‘casino welcome bonus’ and ‘casino sign-up bonus’.

Craps, roulette and blackjack also seem to be the most popular online casino games among residents, with search interest around terms for the three being the highest, whilst games such as keno and Slingo had no search interest at all in the province.

7. Louisiana

In seventh place is Louisiana, with transactional terms such as ‘fast payout casino’ and ‘no deposit casino’ being some of the most popular in the Southern state. Generic terms, such as ‘online casino’ and ‘casino games’ also had high search interest across the state.

Many games had low search interest compared to other terms; however, slots, Slingo and roulette were the most popular searches among Louisianan residents over the last year.

8. Ontario

Ontario followed closely in eighth place, with a total score of 46. Being the country’s biggest province, it’s no surprise that there are plenty of hardcore online casino fans. Some of the most significant search interests in the province were for specific games, such as ‘online blackjack’, ‘roulette online’ and ‘poker sites’.

The province also had one of the highest search interests for ‘Slingo’, a recent casino game combining slots and bingo. Promotion-focused terms, such as ‘no deposit bonus’, ‘100 free spins’ and ‘free spins no deposit’, had the lowest search interest in Ontario.

9. New York

New York placed ninth overall, and it was specific games that had some of the highest search interest in the state, including slots, blackjack, roulette and craps; alongside generic casino terms such as ‘best online casino’ and ‘online casino’.

Promotional terms, such as ‘free spins no deposit’ and transactional terms, such as ‘play casino online real money’, were also popular among New Yorkers.

10. Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania rounded out the top 10 rankings, with more generic terms being the most popular among residents. Terms such as ‘online casinos’, ‘online casino lists’ and ‘best online casino’ had some of the highest search interest, alongside specific games such as Slingo, blackjack and slots.
